OSHA fines Minnehaha Academy contractor on 2 violations

The contractor hired to move natural gas meters at Minnehaha Academy prior to the Aug. 2 explosion that killed two people has been fined $50,000 by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
OSHA cited Master Mechanical Inc. with two “serious” violations, one involving safety and education and one involving construction lockout devices.
The contractor is contesting each $25,000 penalty, according to the OSHA report.
