Wisconsin reports 28 more deaths from COVID-19, 5,033 new cases

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported 28 deaths from COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the state’s total to 3,285 since the start of the pandemic.
The state also reported 5,033 newly confirmed cases. To date, 380,870 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Wisconsin.
The DHS also reported 167 new hospitalizations from COVID-19. As of Saturday, 1,843 patients were in the hospital with complications from COVID-19, with 400 of those in intensive care.
According to the latest DHS report, Wisconsin’s seven-day rolling averages for deaths, confirmed cases and positivity rates are all on the decline, but it’s unclear how the Thanksgiving holiday might have affected data reporting.
Over the past week, Wisconsin has averaged 4,243 confirmed coronavirus cases per day and 40 deaths, down from seven-day averages of 6,408 cases and 54 deaths on Nov. 21. According to DHS data, an average of 27.6% of all people who were tested for COVID-19 over the past week were confirmed to have the disease, and 12.5% of all tests were confirmed to be positive.
So far 306,770 people have recovered or are recovering from COVID-19 and no longer need isolation, while 70,753 cases remain active, according to the DHS.
