COVID-19 in Wisconsin: State sees continued high rates of infection and death

Wisconsin health officials on Thursday announced 21 new deaths related to COVID-19, moving the state’s total to 1,348 deaths since the pandemic began.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services also reported 109 new hospitalizations, creating a total of 7,409 hospitalizations during the pandemic.

A total of 125,161 positive cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Wisconsin, with 2,887 new cases reported Thursday.

As of Thursday, DHS reports that 1,559,882 people have been tested in the state.

Wisconsin’s seven-day average testing positivity rate is at 9.3 percent.
