Man involved in hit-and-run on West 7th in St. Paul arrested, 2 injured

A 37-year-old from St. Paul has been arrested following a hit-and-run that happened in the downtown area Tuesday night.

According to the St. Paul Police Department, at about 5:45 p.m., an SUV driven by Patrick Palmer was eastbound toward downtown on West Seventh Street when it struck a motorcycle at Walnut Street.

Palmer ended up running from the scene but was taken into custody shortly afterward.

Two people were on the motorcycle at the time of the incident and they were transported to local hospitals with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

Palmer has been booked on criminal vehicular operation and simple robbery. Police said alcohol may also have been a contributor to the crash.
