Minneapolis police investigating 5 shootings, 1 stabbing that occurred Wednesday

Minneapolis police say they are investigating five shootings and one stabbing that occurred in the city Wednesday.

One of the shooting incidents was fatal, according to the Minneapolis Police Department.

Below are details of each incident:


Police were called at 3:50 p.m. to the area of Lowry and Logan avenues on the report of shots fired.

When they arrived at the scene, officers found one person dead and another suffering injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The injured victim was transported to the hospital.

Just before 8:50 p.m., officers were called to Hennepin County Medical Center on the report of a shooting victim.

When they arrived, they met with a male victim who had been shot along the 3800 block of Fremont Avenue North. The man told police he had a dispute with people inside of a business and was shot when walking outside.

The suspects then fled the scene.


Officers were called just after 9:30 p.m. to the 1800 block of Nicollet Avenue South on the report of a shooting.

Responding officers found a victim in his late teens who suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center in critical condition, according to police.


Police were called to the 1800 block of Lowry Avenue North on the report of shots fired. One caller told dispatch that a woman had been shot and was being loaded into a car.

A short time later, officers were advised the woman had arrived at an area hospital with gunshot wounds that were not considered life-threatening.

At the hospital, the woman said she was just standing in the area when she was shot. She told officers she was unsure of who could have shot her.


Police were called just after 11:30 p.m. on the report of a stabbing along the 300 block of 26th Avenue North.

When police arrived on the scene, they found a man who had been stabbed by a known acquaintance.

The man was taken to an area hospital with stab wounds that were not considered life-threatening.


In south Minneapolis, officers were called to the 3100 block of 19th Avenue South on the report of someone being shot.

The victim was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center and is in critical condition.
