Two people were rescued Thursday after a canoe capsized on a Kandiyohi County lake.

According to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a canoe capsized at 3:41 p.m. on Ringo Lake, north of Willmar.

Deputies arrived at the scene and were able to locate two people in the water and pull them to safety. They were identified as 66-year-old Debra Leair and 54-year-old Jennifer Leair.

Authorities transported them to the north boat access where they were then treated for possible hypothermia. Neither needed to go to a hospital, the sheriff’s office said.
