Person injured in Minneapolis fire dies weeks later
A man who was injured in a fire earlier this month in the Whittier neighborhood of Minneapolis has died, the Minneapolis Fire Department said Thursday.
The fire happened April 8 at an apartment on the 2800 block of Pleasant Avenue. Crews responding to the fire found a small fire around the stove and an adult male victim in the apartment. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
On Thursday, the fire department was told the victim had succumbed to his injuries.
This was the fifth fire fatality of 2021 in Minneapolis.
The cause of the fire is undetermined.
