A child care center in St. Louis Park is receiving an award for hiring people who live with disabilities.

City leaders were at Westwood Early Childhood Center Monday when it was named Outstanding Disability Employer.

Through partnership resources, the center has hired Minnesotans who live with disabilities to support its kitchen operations.

"I look forward to coming to work every day and I feel lots of love here," one employee said.

Gov. Tim Walz proclaimed October National Disability Employment Awareness Month in Minnesota.
