2 injured after vehicle collided with bear in Crow Wing County

Two people are suffering from injuries after their vehicle on Friday crashed into a bear in Crow Wing County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at 8:49 p.m., driver 19-year-old Tyler Peterson and passenger 20-year-old Cynthia Thompson, both of Brainerd, were going northbound on Highway 25 in Crow Wing County when they hit the bear. The vehicle went off the road and overturned.

The Minnesota State Patrol says both were wearing their seat belts and the road conditions were wet.

They were taken to a hospital in Brainerd with non-life-threatening injuries. The patrol says alcohol was not involved.
