Two homes caught on fire in Minneapolis, no injuries

Two houses caught on fire Sunday morning in Minneapolis.

According to fire officials, at around 11:24 a.m., crews responded to a fire in a one-and-a-half-story home located at the 2000 block of Queen Avenue North.

Once crews arrived at the scene, they found heavy fire showing from the front of the house. Crews also found that the fire had spread to the home next door on the exterior. A second alarm was called for extra personnel and equipment.

Fire officials said crews laid lines for an initial exterior attack to both homes to knock down the exterior fire before switching to an interior attack. Searches were completed and cleared on all floors of both houses. Residents reported that everyone was out of the buildings. There were no reports of injuries.

The initial home that caught on fire was reported to be uninhabitable. As for the second home, the homeowners were on the scene and will decide whether to remain at the house.

The cause of the fire will be under investigation.
