The sentencing date for former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin has been pushed back a week.
The court initially set Chauvin’s sentencing for June 16 but has now moved it to the afternoon of June 25.
Chauvin was found guilty by a jury on April 20 of second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.
Chauvin waived his right to have the jury determine his sentence, so Hennepin County Judge Peter Cahill, who also presided over his trial, will make the decision.
