Lt. Gov. Flanagan says she does not support reinstalling Columbus statue

Lt. Gov. Flanagan has made it known that she does not support the reinstallation of a Christopher Columbus statue that was torn down at the capitol by protesters.
Gov. Walz spokesperson Teddy Tschann said, "while Lieutenant Governor Flanagan has made it clear she does not support reinstalling the statue, she is just one vote on the 12-member, bipartisan board. If the board votes to do so, the statue will be reinstalled."

He is referring to the Capitol Area Architectural and Planning Board, a bipartisan board that will decide the fate of the statue and any potential replacement for it.
Flanagan serves as the chairwoman of the board.
