In effort to help with holiday shopping, Target to implement new options

Thursday, Target officials announced the implementation of additional measures to help ensure safe holiday shopping during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The announcement follows the Minneapolis-based retailer’s efforts throughout the year to implement safety measures in the midst of the pandemic.

To help with holiday shopping, Target announced it plans to:

• Implement contactless payment at self-checkout stations
• Allow customers to checkout with individual employees carrying MyCheckout devices, so customers don’t have to wait in lines
• Offer shopping reservation options for customers
• Increase the number of drive-up spots so customers don’t have to go into the store
• Allow customers to simply show their Target app with their personal ID through their vehicle’s window during contactless pickup
• Update the Target app to allow customers to adjust, in real-time, their preference between order pickup and drive up
