Police investigating overnight shooting in St. Cloud
Police in St. Cloud are investigating an overnight shooting, Tuesday.
According to St. Cloud police, officers responded to a report of several gunshots on the 1200 block of Washington Memorial Drive at 12:11 a.m. However, officers weren’t able to locate any victims or suspects.
Initially, no damage or evidence was found and officers believed the shots were possibly fired in an apartment building parking lot nearby. After speaking with several people in the area, though, officers weren’t able to determine what happened.
At 5:09 a.m., police received a call from someone stating that they’d found damage to their third-floor apartment that’s adjacent to the parking lot police were at.
Officers responded and found damage consistent with several bullet impacts to a window and the interior of the apartment, police said.
Based on the initial investigation, the gunshots are believed to have been fired from the adjacent parking lot.
Police said there were people inside the apartment at the time of the shooting but, fortunately, nobody was injured.
An investigation remains active. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 320-251-1200 or Tri-County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-255-1301.
