Suspect injured in Minneapolis police confrontation sentenced to 5 years in prison
A man who suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound during an altercation with police and was later charged with being an ineligible person in possession of a firearm has been sentenced.
According to court records, 43-year-old Douglas Peake was sentenced to five years in prison at the Minnesota Correctional Facility – St. Cloud.

Peake pleaded guilty to the ineligible person in possession of a firearm charge on Oct. 16.
The incident happened on the evening of Sept. 29, when Minneapolis police arrived at a single-vehicle crash on the 2700 block of Bloomington Avenue South.
Officers found Peake, who was the driver of the vehicle. The situation turned into an armed confrontation and shots were fired before Peake reportedly ran from the scene. Officers found him hiding a short distance away and recovered a handgun.
