Woman dies after being hit by train in Kandiyohi County

The woman who died has been identified as 68-year-old Marcy Swanson of Willmar.
A woman died after being hit by a train in Kandiyohi County on Wednesday.
According to a release from the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, at 2:17 p.m., the sheriff’s office received a report that a pedestrian had been hit by a train.
The report went on to say a person had been walking on the railroad tracks east of Kandiyohi near 98th Street Northeast before being hit.
Authorities responded and found a dead woman at the scene.
Her name will be released at a later time.
The incident is under investigation.
