Netflix to increase subscription prices

Netflix viewers should be prepared to pay a little more to watch their favorite movies and shows.

The video streaming company recently announced it will be hiking its prices.

New subscribers will have to pay $14 for a month for a standard plan, which is a $2 increase. Netflix’s premium plan will be increased to $18.

Current subscribers are exempt for now, however, the increases are expected to go into effect soon.

Last week, ABC reported that Netflix saw subscriber growth slump over the summer months after surging in the spring fueled by pandemic lockdowns that corralled millions of people in their homes.
