UPDATE: Victim in fatal Minneapolis shooting identified
A man was found dead in Minneapolis Friday night after reports of shots fired.
According to the Minneapolis Police Department, at 10:09 p.m., officers responded to reports of hearing shots fired in the area of 2000 block of West Broadway.
Once officers arrived at the scene, they located a man on the ground without a pulse. An officer began CPR and wound management until relieved by paramedics.
Police say paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified him as Deondra Redmon, 38, of Minneapolis.
The preliminary investigation reveals that Redmon and the suspect or suspects likely knew each other based on the evidence at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
