Investigation underway after 22-year-old shot in back, leg in St. Paul

An investigation is underway following a shooting in St. Paul Wednesday morning.

According to the St. Paul Police Department, officers responded to the 700 block of East Third Street at about 4 a.m. after receiving a report of a shooting in the area.

Upon arrival, they found a 22-year-old man who had been shot in the back and leg. He was transported to a nearby hospital and is expected to be OK, police said.

Police said it appeared the suspect or suspects attempted to rob the man as he was exiting a vehicle. Police said no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
