Authorities rescued a camper who was lost in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) Monday night.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, pilots and St. Louis County first responders worked together to locate and rescue the camper, who was reported missing for several hours.

Pilots used night vision technology and eventually located the missing person after spotting a campfire.

The State Patrol said pilots then were able to relay GPS coordinates to the ground team, who then rescued the man.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
