COVID-19 in Wisconsin: DHS reports 15 new deaths, 50 hospitalizations
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported 15 new deaths from COVID-19 on Saturday, the highest single-day total since July 31. To date, 1,168 people have died from the virus statewide.
Wisconsin also reported 50 new coronavirus hospitalizations. As of Saturday, 275 patients remained in the hospital, with 95 in intensive care. So far 6,048 patients have ever required hospitalization.
There were 946 newly reported positive cases of COVID-19 in Wisconsin out of 8,021 completed tests, according to the DHS’s latest report. The state’s cumulative case count is now at 80,300, and 1,297,578 people have been tested.
The DHS states that 71,153 people are recovering and no longer need to be isolated and 7,961 cases remain active.
