MDH reports 6 new COVID-19 deaths, 43 hospitalizations
Sunday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported six new deaths from COVID-19, as well as 43 more hospitalizations.
So far, 1,857 people have died of the coronavirus in Minnesota, including 1,359 in long-term care and assisted living facilities.
As of Sunday, 284 patients were hospitalized with COVID-19 and 143 were in intensive care. To date, 6,719 patients have been hospitalized in Minnesota.
According to MDH, there were 714 newly reported positive COVID-19 tests in Minnesota on Sunday, bringing the state’s total to 80,587 since pandemic record-keeping began.

A total of 72,463 patients have recovered, or are recovering, and no longer need isolation, according to MDH.
As of Sunday, approximately 1,594,639 tests have been completed in Minnesota and 1,188,293 people have been tested.

According to the Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering, the virus has infected more than 26.9 million people worldwide and killed about 880,500 people.
Nearly 18 million people worldwide have recovered as of Sunday.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, patients with confirmed COVID-19 have mild to severe respiratory problems, with symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath. Some patients report having muscle aches, headache, sore throat, and/or chills and shaking.
