Vehicle hits light rail train in Minneapolis

A vehicle hit a light rail train in Minneapolis Tuesday night.

According to Metro Transit, the crash happened before midnight.

Metro Transit said the train was traveling east at Government Plaza when a vehicle traveling north on Third Avenue hit the train.

The vehicle was significantly damaged and was towed from the scene.

Authorities said the driver wasn’t cited by police.

At this time, it’s unclear how much damage the light rail train sustained and what caused the crash.

It’s also unclear if anyone was injured.
