Eden Prairie police warn of people posing as utility workers to get into homes
Eden Prairie police are warning residents of people posing as utility workers to get into homes in the area.
According to Eden Prairie Police, officers learned that three men posed as utility workers to gain entry into a home in the 17000 block of West 62nd Street on Tuesday. Police said the men told the elderly homeowner they were there to perform an energy check.
Police urged residents to always expect a utility worker who knocks on your door to show proper identification, especially if you don’t have an appointment scheduled with them. You can also ask them to wait outside while you call the utility company to confirm they sent someone to your home, police said.
