Minnetonka Fire Department warns of COVID contact tracing scams
The Minnetonka Fire Department is warning people to watch for contact tracing scams.
The department said contact tracers may contact those who’ve been exposed to or had COVID-19 but the public should beware of people impersonating contact tracers.
A contact tracer won’t ever ask you for money, sensitive information, immigration status or to click on a suspicious link, the department said.
The fire department urged people to ask contact tracers for verification and call 911 to report any suspicious activity.
??Scam alert!??
