Another cool-down is expected Thursday night, creating conditions for frost to return.
The National Weather Service issued a new frost advisory from 11 p.m. Thursday until 9 a.m. Friday for parts of central and east-central Minnesota, as well as northwest and west-central Wisconsin.
According to the NWS, temperatures as low as 33 degrees overnight will result in frost formation, which could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered. Chief Meteorologist Dave Dahl said covering plants with a light bed sheet until the sun appears Friday will help.
Looking ahead, a mix of some rainy and sunny weather is on the way.
Friday will start with a clear sky and then increasing clouds by the afternoon could create a few late thunderstorms, according to Chief Morning Meteorologist Ken Barlow. The high is expected to be 68 degrees.
Then, scattered thunderstorms are expected Saturday, with a high in the mid-60s.
Sunday will be mostly sunny and warmer, with a high of 70 degrees.
