Drugs, explosive device, stolen property among items recovered at Crow Wing property through search warrant

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Lakes Area Drug Investigation Division, Crow Wing County Bomb Team, Crosslake Police Department and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, recently executed a search warrant in Mission Township and found drugs, an improvised explosive device and stolen property.

According to a news release, shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday, a search warrant was executed at a residence located in the 13000 block of North Horseshoe Lake Road.

Officers located an improvised explosive device inside the residence. The Crow Wing County Bomb Team responded, rendered the device safe and disposed of it.

Additionally, about 15.7 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of $315 and about 8.6 grams of psilocybin mushrooms with a street value of $730 were recovered.

Among the stolen property recovered on the property from a burglary that took place earlier in the summer were a travel trailer, an ATV, a snowmobile and trailer, and a ready heater.

Authorities say Donald Eugene Lewandowski was taken into custody and is housed at the Crow Wing County Jail on multiple charges. The charges consist of the following:

• Felony probation violation
• Two counts of fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance
• Receiving stolen property
• Possession of firearms or ammunition by a prohibited person
• Possession of an explosive device by a prohibited person

Three others have been charged during the search warrant. Police say Brian William Durant faces a fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance charge; Erick Allen Lewandowski has been charged with one count of possession of firearms or ammunition by a prohibited person, and Kathlene Ann Walther faces one count of fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance.
