Rice Lake, Wisconsin, man arrested in Barron County homicide
A Rice Lake, Wisconsin, man has been arrested in connection to a homicide in Barron County.
The Barron County Sheriff’s Department said it received a 911 call from a woman at 12:55 p.m. Sunday stating she’d found her son outside, he wasn’t breathing and there was blood inside the house.
Deputies and a Department of Natural Resources warden responded to the home, located on 27th Street near Oakland Road in Chetek, and found 23-year-old Garrett Macone dead.
During the investigation, the sheriff’s department said 25-year-old Andrew Brunette was taken into custody. He’s currently being held in jail on first-degree intentional homicide charges. Formal charges are expected to be filed by the Barron County Attorney’s Office later this week.
The case remains under investigation.
