Robbery reported in Dinkytown, public urged to use caution

The University of Minnesota Department of Public Safety says a robbery occurred early Tuesday morning in Dinkytown.

A report states it occurred around 1:30 a.m. near 17th Avenue Southeast and University Avenue Southeast.

The suspect was described as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with yellow writing across the chest, blue pants, flip flops and a medical-style mask. The suspect was said to have been armed with a gun.

The department urged the public to be aware and use caution.
