Brainerd High School switches to remote learning for 2 weeks amid COVID-19 cluster
Brainerd Public Schools has announced that classes for grades 9-12 at Brainerd High School, Lincoln Education Center and Brainerd Learning Center are canceled Wednesday and will be held remotely beginning Thursday until Oct. 8.
According to a letter sent to parents by Brainerd Public Schools, classes for high school aged students will be remote for two weeks to "reset."
The "reset" is necessary due to a cluster of COVID-19 cases that have been identified among the student body and grown past the school’s ability to contact trace according to the letter.
When classes resume for in-person schooling on Oct. 8, they will be in a hybrid model with B-group students beginning on Oct. 8.
The letter goes on to state that per guidelines of the 2020 Minnesota Safe Learning Plan, during the two-week reset, all Brainerd High School sponsored athletics and activities will be postponed or canceled.
