Walz orders flags at half staff for Minnesota Fallen Firefighters Memorial Day

Gov. Tim Walz on Friday ordered flags at half staff in honor of fallen firefighters.

Minnesota Fallen Firefighters Memorial Day is Sunday and, in recognition, Walz ordered all U.S. and state flags to be flown at half staff from sunrise to sunset on Sunday.

"Each day, our firefighters put their lives on the line to protect us, our loved ones, and our communities," Walz said. "This day pays tribute to the firefighters who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, and the bravery of those who continue to serve."

Individuals, businesses and all other organizations are encouraged to join in lowering their flags to honor fallen Minnesota firefighters and their families.
