A missing hunter found dead Saturday evening in Dovre Township has been identified.
According to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, at 3:32 p.m., deputies were called to the area of County Road 27 and County Road 5 on a report of a missing hunter.
Once deputies arrived, they learned that 56-year-old Alan Marcus, from Willmar, had come to the area to bow hunt earlier in the day but hadn’t been heard from by family.
A ground search was conducted by the sheriff’s office and the Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad. They later found Marcus dead on the hunting property from a possible medical condition.
The sheriff’s office is currently still investigating the incident.
His cause of death will be released by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office at a later time.
