COVID-19 in Wisconsin: 3 new deaths, 517 new cases

Wisconsin health officials on Thursday reported three new deaths related to COVID-19, moving the state’s total to 6,625 deaths since the pandemic began.

Additionally, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) reported 40 new hospitalizations, moving the total number of hospitalizations during the pandemic to 27,638.

A total of 577,712 positive cases of COVID-19 have now been confirmed in Wisconsin, with 517 new cases reported Thursday.

As of Thursday, DHS reports that more than 3.31 million people have been tested in the state.

The state’s seven-day average positivity rate by test is at 2.9%.

DHS said the state has been allocated more than 3 million vaccine doses so far. Of those, 2.9 million had been administered as of Thursday, and nearly 1.1 million people had completed the two-shot vaccine series.
