COVID-19 in Wisconsin: 8 new deaths, 875 new cases

Wisconsin health officials on Friday reported eight new deaths related to COVID-19, moving the state’s total to 6,633 deaths since the pandemic began.
Additionally, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) reported 47 new hospitalizations, moving the total number of hospitalizations during the pandemic to 27,685.
A total of 578,587 positive cases of COVID-19 have now been confirmed in Wisconsin, with 875 new cases reported Friday.

As of Friday, DHS reports that more than 3.32 million people have been tested in the state.
The state’s seven-day average positivity rate by test is at 3%.
DHS said the state has been allocated more than 3 million vaccine doses so far. Of those, 2.9 million had been administered as of Friday, and nearly 1.1 million people had completed the two-shot vaccine series.
