COVID-19 in Wisconsin: Nearly 20% of all residents fully vaccinated

Wisconsin health officials on Saturday reported seven new deaths related to COVID-19, moving the state’s total to 6,640 deaths since the pandemic began.

Additionally, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) reported 54 new hospitalizations, moving the total number of hospitalizations during the pandemic to 27,739.

A total of 579.293 positive cases of COVID-19 have now been confirmed in Wisconsin, with 706 new cases reported Thursday.

As of Thursday, DHS reports that more than 3.3 million people have been tested in the state.

The state’s seven-day average positivity rate by test is at 3.2%.

DHS said the state has administered 3 million COVID-19 vaccine doses as of Saturday, and nearly 1.5 million people — about 20% of the state’s population — had completed the two-shot vaccine series.
