The last cold snap may not yet be over for this season, but with the warmer weather this weekend, many are saying they’re ready to get back to planting.
Both Angela and John Jacobson were out and about enjoying the sunshine, beautiful weather and nice flowers Saturday after recently getting their COVID-19 vaccine.
“It’s fun just to walk around, it’s so pretty,” Angela Jacobson said.
“Being an extrovert is very difficult during this pandemic. Because you just got to stay away from people,” John Jacobson said.
At Gerten’s Garden Center in Inver Grove Heights, the buzz is from people trying to keep busy.
“It’s a really nice day today,” said Carlie Volbrecht, a department manager at Gerten’s Garden Center. “We have pansies outside. We’ve got house plants, Easter plants, bulb gardens. A lot of people here getting ready for spring.”
“It’s gardening season as far as I’m concerned already,” said Paula Welch. “I think we’re more driven because of the pandemic and being stuck inside all last summer.”
