1 dead in Minneapolis after Tuesday evening shooting

A man is dead after a shooting that occurred in Minneapolis Tuesday night.

According to the Minneapolis police, at 5:15 p.m., police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting the sound of shots fired and an adult man down in the area of 19th Street East and Elliot Avenue.

When officers arrived they, located the man, believed to be in his 30s, suffering from a gunshot wound. The man did not have a pulse and was not breathing, so officers began CPR. The man was transported to Hennepin Healthcare, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The Minneapolis crime lab and detectives from the homicide unit processed the scene and canvassed the area to see if anyone witnessed the incident

The investigation into this shooting is ongoing.
