Gabe Kalscheur announces transfer to play for Iowa State
The Minnesota Gophers’ best perimeter defender, Gabe Kalscheur, entered the transfer portal last week and announced on Saturday that he will be going to Iowa State University.
Kalscheur is an All Big Ten level defender who scored 11.6 points per game as a sophomore and 9.2 points last year. He will transfer and play for new Cyclones coach T.J. Otzelberger.

Kalscheur from DeLaSalle high school played for the Gophers for three years and scored 24 points as a freshman to lead the Gophers to an NCAA Tournament win vs. Louisville in 2019.

Over 1,000 players across D1 are currently in the portal, including Gophers Marcus Carr, Jamal Mashburn Jr., Liam Robbins, Sam Freeman, Tre Williams, and Martice Mitchell.
