3 arrested after kidnapping, standoff in Inver Grove Heights
Three people were arrested after a kidnapping and short standoff in Inver Grove Heights late Wednesday night.
According to Inver Grove Heights Police, officers were called about someone being held against their will at about 10:43 p.m. near Upper 55th Street East and Blackberry Trail.
Officers arrived at the scene, determined where the person was being held, and were able to communicate with the victim.
A short time later, multiple people exited the location and three people were arrested. Police said the 19-year-old female victim was able to exit the place and talked with officers.
The following people were booked into Dakota County Jail:
- Ilmi Yusuf, 36, of Minneapolis, was arrested for first-degree possession of drugs,
- Abdifatah Abdi, 24, of Inver Grove Heights, was arrested for threats of violence, kidnapping and interference with a 911 call,
- Hassan Hussein, 36, of Inver Grove Heights, was arrested for kidnapping and aiding and abetting an offender.
Police from Apple Valley, Dakota County Sheriff’s Office, Lakeville, South St. Paul and West St. Paul also responded and assisted Inver Grove Heights police.
