Walz signs funding for disability service providers into law

The $30 million relief package was approved by lawmakers Wednesday to help disability service providers in dire financial straits due to program restrictions in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The people most impacted by COVID-19 have been our most vulnerable populations — directing this funding to disability service providers will help ensure we don’t leave anyone behind," Walz said. "This bill will provide direct support to ensure Minnesotans with disabilities and older Minnesotans continue to receive critical services amid COVID-19."
Walz also signed a bill regarding a POST board technical fix to ensure efficient implementation of the police reform and accountability bill passed last month.
