UPDATE:

St. Paul police have identified the woman killed in a Wednesday night shooting as 61-year-old Teresa Bearribs.

Police have yet to arrest a suspect in connection to the shooting.

Bearribs’ family said she called a loved one before the shooting after possibly seeing some people outside that made her uncomfortable.

"We’re all hurting, we’re sad, we all miss our mom, she was a good woman, she didn’t deserve what happened to her," said Tim Bearribs, the victim’s son.

Family members said she’d been watching her three young grandchildren Wednesday night at her daughter’s house.

"She always thought the best of people, one of her favorite things was to spend time with her grandkids … that was her favorite thing," Tim Bearribs added.

He said, thankfully, they believe the kids didn’t witness the deadly shooting of their grandmother.

The family said Bearribs had 15 grandchildren.

A GoFundMe account has been started to help the family pay for the unexpected expenses.
