St. Cloud pawn shop robbed; employees taken to hospital
A St. Cloud pawn shop was robbed and two employees were injured Friday.
According to a release from the St. Cloud Police Department, at 11:56 a.m., officers were sent on a report of a robbery at Security Coin and Pawn Shop, located in the 600 block of West St. Germain Street.
When officers arrived, they determined that three men entered the store and approached the two employees working behind the counter. One of the suspects left the store, at which point the other two each grabbed an employee and punched them in the face. The two suspects then jumped over the counter, entered the case where jewelry was displayed and took numerous items before fleeing the store. No weapons were observed in the robbery.
A 75-year-old woman and 76-year-old man who were employees at the store were both taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Two of the suspects are described as black men in their 20s dressed in similar dark, athletic sweat pants and jackets, both had athletic builds and were 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 9 inches tall. The third suspect is also described as a black male around 5 feet, 11 inches tall and wearing a long full-length white shirt/jacket with a white head covering. All three were wearing masks.
