A Wisconsin man is now paralyzed after officers shot him in the back multiple times. Jacob Blake was shot by police on Sunday in Kenosha.

As riots erupt in the city and around the country in response, Blake’s mother pleads for unity.

"To all of the police officers, I’m praying for you and your families. To all of the citizens, my black and brown sisters and brothers, I’m praying for you," said Julia Jackson, Blake’s mother.

One of Blake’s attorneys says the injuries are severe, and Blake could be paralyzed from the waist down for life.

"They shot my son seven times like he doesn’t matter," said Jacob Blake Sr. "But he matters."

Attorneys representing the Blake family, including Ben Crump, who represents George Floyd’s family, say they will be aggressively going after the case to make sure there are due process and justice.

"How many more examples of police brutality do we need to effectuate change," said B’Ivory LaMarr, the lawyer representing Blake. "If George Floyd wasn’t clear enough, today we stand before you with another one."
