Theft suspect arrested after leading officers on car chase in Little Falls

A man is in custody on suspicion of stealing from a Walmart and fleeing from authorities Tuesday night in Little Falls.

According to a news release from the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called around 7:40 p.m. to assist the Little Falls Police Department on a reported theft at a Walmart.

While deputies were heading to the scene, they were advised that the subject had driven away from the store, the sheriff’s office stated.

A sheriff’s deputy found the suspect vehicle on 160th Avenue, east of Little Falls, and attempted to stop it. The vehicle’s driver fled, driving through yards and hitting the squad car at one point, according to the incident report.

The sheriff’s office said the suspect got out of the vehicle and ran away on foot but was later tracked down with a K-9.
