West St. Paul man sentenced for armed robberies of Twin Cities restaurants, gas stations
A West St. Paul man has been sentenced for the armed robberies of several Twin Cities restaurants and gas stations.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 30-year-old Delfonzo Denell Wallace was sentenced Tuesday to more than eight years (97 months) in prison for eight counts of interference with commerce by robbery. He’d previously pleaded guilty to the charges.
West St. Paul man pleads guilty to armed robberies of 8 metro businesses
Between June 14, 2019, and Oct. 10, 2019, Wallace robbed eight businesses while armed with a firearm, according to his guilty plea and court documents. The robberies included Starbucks, Speedway, Wendy’s, Shuang Hur Supermarket, McDonald’s and Spitz restaurant in the Twin Cities, the attorney’s office said.
The attorney’s office said Wallace threatened force and used force, violence and fear of injury against employees to steal more than $20,000 in cash. As part of his sentence, he’ll have to repay all of the money he stole.
He was also sentenced to three years of supervised release.
