17-year-old victim who was shot in the head in Burnsville identified

The victim who was shot in the head on Aug. 22 in Burnsville has been identified as 17-year-old Eduardo Avila Santiago.

According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, Avila Santiago died at Hennepin Healthcare from his gunshot wound. The manner of death in this incident is a homicide.

At around 1 a.m., on Aug. 22, Burnsville Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 600 block of 145th Street East.

Burnsville Police: 1 victim shot in head, no suspects in custody

When officers arrived on the scene, they located Avila Santiago in the street suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Avila Santiago was transported to Hennepin Healthcare to be treated for his injury, where he later died at the hospital, according to officials.

Police are still searching for three male suspects that were all wearing black long sleeve shirts and light-colored jeans on the day of the incident.

Burnsville Police is asking the public to call 952-322-2323 if someone knows any information regarding the incident.
