Victim of fatal shooting in south Minneapolis identified

A Minneapolis man who died Thursday morning shortly after arriving at the hospital with gunshot wounds has been identified.

According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office, 29-year-old Andrew DeJon Davis was shot on the 3500 block of Chicago Avenue South and was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he died of multiple gunshot wounds just after 5 a.m.

A news release from the Minneapolis Police Department states that officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation at the scene of the shooting around 3:51 a.m. Police were told that the shooting victim had been taken to the hospital.
