16-year-old wounded in north Minneapolis shooting

A shooting happened mid-afternoon in north Minneapolis on Friday.

Minneapolis Police spokesperson John Elder said police responded to the 1800 block of Penn Avenue N. on a report of a shooting at about 3:34 p.m. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 16-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound.

The teenager was transported to North Memorial with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

One person was detained and interviewed during the incident, however, there are no suspects at this time.

The incident remains under investigation.
