UPDATE: Anoka County Sheriff’s Office take man into custody after standoff in Spring Lake Park

UPDATE:

A man is in custody following an armed standoff in Spring Lake Park.

According to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, authorities were called just after 11 a.m. to he 7700 block of Jackson Street Northeast on the report of a man who threatened another person with a handgun.

Authorities attempted to speak with the suspect, who was inside of his home, and have him surrender peacefully. After the suspect refused to comply, he fired "multiple rounds," according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office said a SWAT vehicle was shot four times, as well as an occupied home in the neighborhood.

The suspect eventually exited the home and authorities were able to take him into custody.

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office identified the man as 50-year-old Steven Carlos Bezek. The sheriff’s office said Bezek was also involved in a standoff with law enforcement on June 26.

According to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, are on scene on the 7700 block of Jackson Street NE in Spring Lake Park.

The person is reportedly firing at law enforcement. The Spring Lake Park Police Department were dispatched at 11:19 a.m. on the report of a man pointing a gun at a neighbor.

The public is urged to stay away as it is an active scene.

This is the same home as a standoff that occurred on June 26, according to the sheriff’s office.
