Storm drops foot of snow in Mankato, couple inches around metro

Mother Nature sent a strong reminder on Monday that spring isn’t quite here yet.

Snow fell most of the day across most of the Twin Cities metro area, but it was southern Minnesota that was hit the hardest.

Below are some snowfall totals, as of Tuesday morning:

  • Mankato — 12"
  • Nicollet — 11"
  • Douglas — 5.5"
  • Minnesota Lake — 5"
  • Maple Grove — 4.7"
  • Maple Plain — 3.8"
  • Apple Valley — 3.7"
  • Prior Lake — 3.5"
  • Montrose — 3.5"
  • Bloomington — 3.1"
  • Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport — 2.9"
  • Minneapolis — 2"

The good news is temperatures should climb into the 50s by Thursday and possibly reach the 60s this weekend, hopefully getting rid of most of that snow.
